Rebel Congress-JD(S) MLAs have written to Mumbai police and demanded additional security as they feel a threat from Karnataka Chief Minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar. In a letter, addressed to Mumbai Commissioner of Police, 10 rebel Karnataka Congress-JD(S) MLAs said, “We are staying at Hotel Renaissance Powai in Mumbai. We have heard HD Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar are going to storm the hotel. We feel threatened. Do not allow them to enter hotel premises.”

As per the letter, MLAs are not willing to meet Kumaraswamy and DK Shivakumar and want police not to allow them in hotel premises.

The signatories of the letter were Shivram Hebbar, Pratap Gowda Patil, BC Patil, Byrati Basavraj, S T Somshekar, Ramesh Jarkiholi, Gopalaiyya, H Vishwanath, Narayan Gowda and Mahesh Kumutali.

The 13-month-old HD Kumaraswamy government could be asked to prove its majority in the Assembly on July 17 by Speaker KR Ramesh Kumar who refused on Tuesday to accept resignations of all the 13 Congress and JD-S legislators.
