Sanjay Raut says Sena wants Aaditya to be next Maharashtra CM

Senior Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday said everybody in Sena wants Yuva Sena president Aaditya Thackeray to be the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra and asserted that his party will get the coveted post.

Recently, Maharashtra Bharatiya Janata Party president and states Minister for Revenue Chandrakant Patil had remarked said his party would form the next chief minister. Add to that his cabinet colleague Minister for Medical Education Girish Mahajan too recently had made similar claims.

In an apparent bid to project himself as the chief minister, Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray has started a ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatra’ which reached Manmad on Saturday. Speaking to party workers at Manmad, Raut remarked if the rally was getting such a huge response now how many people would turn up to attend Sena chief ministers oath taking ceremony in October.

The Sena leader argued that Aaditya has the caliber to lead the state. “Maharashtra has got a dynamic youth leader in the form of Aaditya and people of all faiths are looking to him with hope. Sena workers have decided that their party should form the next government with its Chief Minister and we all want Aaditya ji to occupy that post,” Raut said.

Earlier in the week, Maharashtra BJP in-charge Saroj Pandey had insisted that the next chief minister would be from her party only. “No matter what others are saying the next Chief Minister would be from the BJP only,” Pandey had said in Ahmednagar. Reacting to her statement a Shiv Sena corporator in Nashik had put up a banner opposite the local BJP office claiming that the next CM will be from his party.
